Buffalohair: Idle No More – A Poem – Fostered Hope
Idle No More – A Poem – Fostered Hope
Fostered Hope
In times of old when we were free, and travelled with a subtle breeze.
This land of birth had no disease, and all we felt was life at ease.
Bison roamed a million fold, and in our way, that was our gold.
He served us well, both young and old, his all of wealth, from stories told.
Our wine of choice was of a spring, we shared our life with everything.
Oh Mother Earth and Father Sky, please save us from this white man’s Lie.
His ways of hate and words of quick have left our people sad and sick.
He’s killed the beasts that ruled the plains, and gave us booze that rot our brains.
Those words of quick have hurt our sight, and pushed us to this time of plight.
Our children walk in endless night, fore they have lost the path of light.
Make well of us and land gone strange, and bring back life to the barren range.
Return the water that we may drink, and clear our minds so we may think.
Return the spark of life’s sweet fire, and give new hope for those we sire.
Make good this land that has gone strange, and foster forth this Time of Change.

Idle No More – A Poem – Simple Choice
Simple Choice
The time of change is oh so grand
Fore it will spread throughout this land
From trees to seas, and all that stand
Even that of common man
Will hark and beat of not what’s wrong
But drum our Earth’s most happy song
Oh man of greed and man of gold
Hearken forth, this story told
Since times of past, from men of wise
Our Mother Earth is too of guise
She lay in wait, through times of grate
And witnessed mans unhappy state
Our Father Sky in poised askance
In equal pall of mans advance
Will make askew, this path of strife
And beckon forth a happy life
But man must face his chosen do
And right his wrong or stay un-new
The rhythmic beat from drummers hand
Will echo forth throughout the land
The happy songs will fill our heart
We’ll dance for joy with life’s new start.

Idle No More Protest & Burma’s Kachin War, The Dark Parallel
The ‘Idle No More’ phenomena has reached epic proportions in recent weeks as indigenous people from throughout the America’s have risen to support Chief Spence and her hunger strike against Canadian tyranny. Prime Minister Steve Harper inadvertently opened up a can of worms as he deliberately showed callous disregard for the People of the First Nation and it’s all about natural resources, tribal land and the corporate bottom line. The
‘Idle No More’ phenomena has reached epic proportions in recent weeks
as indigenous people from throughout the America’s have risen to support
Chief Spence and her hunger strike against Canadian tyranny. Prime
Minister Steve Harper inadvertently opened up a can of worms as he
deliberately showed callous disregard for the People of the First Nation
and it’s all about natural resources, tribal land and the corporate
bottom line. The very same thing is happening to the Kachin (Jinghpaw) People of Kachin State Burma and if you connect the dots they are directly related to one another.
Though Burma and Canada are thousands of miles apart the plights of the indigenous people in these nations share a common enemy and that is elitists and their international corporations. They are eager to exploit sovereign tribal land whence these pesky indigenous people are removed either by force or euthanized as in the case of natural resource rich Kachin State. When will Steve Harper resort to force against the People of the First Nation for his corporate handlers? There is no question native people will soon have their flesh pierced by Canadian government bullets as vested corporate interests dictate the need to euthanize them like they have in Kachin State Burma.
It is ironic to note that Canadian & American mining interests are waiting in the shadows as the Burmese government wages war against the Kachin people. The only devil being publicized is Chinese mining and oil interests but if you did your homework you would also know that Canadian and US corporations are partnered with these Chinese firms. It is also ironic that within Kachin tradition they believe that the indigenous peoples of the America’s are descendants of the eldest of 7 brothers and are their relations. Sadly they also face extermination as the Burmese Military Junta continues to murder innocent people much like the Euro-Americans did just 100 years ago. The survivors were colonized, placed on reserves and their bloodlines erased from history.
The continued military assault on Kachin Internally Displace People (IDP) who are already dying from exposure & starvation in makeshift refugee enclaves is reminiscent of the slaughter of starving and freezing Lakota People (Čhaŋkpé Ópi Wakpála) in Wounded Knee on December 29, 1890. This is the darkest of all histories repeating it self. Dare I mention the Sand Creek Massacre of my people on November 29 1864? Like in the case of the Lakota & Cheyenne, the world is only supplying lip service and only in recent days has the mainstream media begun to make mention of the wholesale genocide in Kachin State as this war reaches its 2 year anniversary. Reason being is the fact independent news sources and bloggers have managed to gain the publics eye since Burma claimed to be a budding new democracy and wants sanctions lifted.
Fact is the new civilian government of Burma is a sham since the military junta continues to control with an iron fist. Suu Kyi and Thein Sein have been neutralized, denuded of real power and are nothing more than store fronts that mask a criminal regime. General Than Shwe should receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his cleaver re-enactment of the bloody history of the America’s since he is using historic western genocidal techniques as his blueprint for eugenics in Kachin State. The sham government of Burma is reflective of the sham government of Canada since they both cater to corporate mining and oil interests at the expense of the indigenous people. Eventually the non aboriginal people of Canada will learn exactly how they are being screwed by corporations much like the American public since corporations rule the roost in the good ole USA. Treason by politicians against their respective nations has become an art form globally and investors have sold their freedom.
Globalization is Colonization but on a grand scale and eventually everyone, regardless of race or color will soon discover this reality, except for us Red Indian types since we are already colonized. Wars are being planned not for the betterment of mankind but for vested corporate interests who already have designs on many resource rich nations such as the case of Kachin State and the sovereign land of the First Nation in Canada. But the cancer does not stop there for this rush for the corporate gold has infected Central and South America as private armies assassinate all who stand in their way. Africa is another corporate killing field where corporations have raped nation after nation of natural resources leaving the people impoverished while lining the pockets of tin horn dictators who murder their own people.
Idle No More stands for the re-awakening of humanity and the defense of Mother Earth not only in Canada but for the whole planet. Everyone, regardless of skin tone, is under siege from oligarchists who have waged war on anyone that stands in the way of progress and the corporate bottom line. And it is time for everyone on the planet to be Idle No More!

Buffalohair: Burma Celebrates New Years by Launching Air Strikes on Kachin Civilians in Laiza
Burma Celebrates New Years by Launching Air Strikes on Kachin Civilians in Laiza
In
Time Square, they dropped the ball for New Years. In Burma, they
dropped bombs for New Years. Call it Than Shwe’s gift to the ethnic
Kachin People (Jinghpaw) on this New Years Day as he stepped up military
operations with renewed air strikes by attack helicopters and jet
fighters. Civilians in the Laiza area were forced to dig bomb shelters
as *Burmese Government forces destroyed infrastructure, civilian &
military targets in clear violation of International Law as well as
mandates issued by the UN. Guess those international laws only apply
when convenient and profitable. And where is the western media, asleep
at the wheel again but its not the first time they deliberately ignored
the Kachin People.
It is unfortunate to note the media as a whole are owned by multinational corporations who are also eager to exploit Kachin States natural resources as Than Shwe. So it does not come as a surprise as Burma continues its exercise in eugenics by systematically murdering countless human beings in broad daylight in the face of the western world and their strategically ambivalent leadership. Should the media be held accountable for masking genocide in an effort to assist their parent companies? After all, they do have Kachin blood on their hands as thousands of Internally Displaced People (IDP) begins to die from starvation and exposure. Should they also be held culpable for the ongoing rapes and tortures of civilians as well? It is time to take down names and identify organizations for future International Criminal Court proceedings or is that a sham as well? Do your homework and follow the money and you will learn corruption runs deeper than any conspiracy could have ever imagined. It is all about the money and that is the bottom line.
The Kachin War was in full swing well over a year before the Burmese government instigated the feud between the Rohyinga and the Burmese while tossing in a religions theme to their dastardly deed. The corrupt media failed to report about the 100,000 Kachin IDP who fled advancing Burmese Troops that violated the original ceasefire then launched a murderous attack on farmers and villagers. The crisis in Kachinland also highlighted the fact President Their Sein is only a straw boss and Burma’s political arena is nothing more than a store front for international investors to sugar coat their involvement with the Junta.
In fact, the bogus civilian government of Burma was intentionally designed to mask the multitude of international corporations that continued to violate sanctions and do business with Than Shwe and the boys over the years. Unsurprisingly the media failed to make any mention of that ‘coincidental’ tidbit of hard facts. And don’t think for one second Than and his crew of miscreants were cleaver enough to devise this ‘civilian government’ scheme for the true architects are corporate vermin and their coven of elitist oligarchists. It’s funny in a dark and twisted way to note that General Than Shwe and his ilk are actually pawns to the corporate dollar for they allowed Burma to become colonized once again.
To his credit, Their Sein did issue several ceasefires in the Kachin Civil War only to have his orders officially ignored by Than Shwe’s military. Aunty Suu is equally hapless and is only a pretty pawn in the grand scheme of things and there is no question her life & freedom was threatened if she ‘stepped out of line’. Now with absolutely no one willing to step forward and stop the genocide in Kachin State, the Junta has the green light to exterminate the remaining Kachin people by what ever means possible. All the world has offered is lip service, fanciful speeches and ‘feel good visits’ that only legitimized this criminal military regime. Than Shwe and his murderous criminals barely got their hands slapped, like a kid who stole lunch money, for crimes against humanity.
Guess it’s just a coincidence that mining corporations from the west have shipping containers filled with mining supplies in Burma waiting for the last Kachin to die. With the population vanquished there would be little opposition as they grab up the land and mine KachinState into oblivion. Stock holders from around the world are accessories after the fact for their profiteering on blood money and a party to genocide, not only in Kachin State but around the world. But in the meantime, let’s bomb the Kachin people into oblivion. Rape, torture and murder a few civilians for entertainment. When everybody is dead and gone we can pillage Kachin State for absolutely every natural resource this region possesses. After all, the media is in the pockets of corporate thugs who eagerly await news the Kachin people have been snuffed out of existence. And I doubt they will bite the hand that feeds them.
I renew my support for the Jinghpaw and the valiant men and women of the KIO/KIA who are sacrificing everything for their very existence. I also offer a special salute to the ‘White Tigers’ for their tireless efforts to save their people, you are not forgotten. And though Burma is well supplied with Russian and Chinese weaponry they continue to loose troops in great numbers and the Tatmadaw should be held accountable to the Burmese people for this needless loss of life for this is an unjust and evil war. The Kachin know who their allies are and when the war is over there will be many corporate ass kissers who will want to join the celebration but I doubt the Jinghpaw will send an invitation.
Happy New Year
