These are the only countries reporting no cases of coronavirus
According to the World Health Organization, there are a smattering of nations on three continents at zero; every country in Europe has reported at least seven cases of COVID-19, including the Holy See, along with the Americas and Australia.
The countries still reporting zero COVID-19 cases, as of Monday morning, are:
Africa
— Lesotho
— Comoros
Oceania
— Marshall Islands
— Micronesia
— Nauru
— Kiribati
— Palau
— Samoa
— Solomon Islands
— Tonga
— Tuvalu
— Vanuatu
Asia
— North Korea
— Tajikistan
— Turkmenistan
Of course, there is reason to be dubious about some of these numbers (or lack thereof). North Korea, which shares borders with China and South Korea, almost certainly has cases, but the dictatorship is unlikely to reveal the extent of any possible outbreak. Similarly, reports came out in late March that Turkmenistan has banned its state-controlled media from printing or saying "coronavirus" and pulled health brochures about COVID-19 from hospitals, schools and offices.
Far-flung locations in Oceania are more likely to truly have no cases, although officials in American Samoa told NBC News they had no testing capability to process samples, likely a scenario being faced by other remote locations too. They've resorted to sending samples to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta for analysis.
Many small island nations imposed strict travel guidelines to prevent visitors from inadvertently bringing COVID-19 along with them. Nauru, an island in the Pacific with a population of about 10,000, reportedly has just over 150 tourists a year, but they've suspended most flights in and out of the country as a precaution.
