When we talk about life on Earth we do it with a mixture of fascination and pride. We are the only planet we know alive among many other thousands of planets because the conditions required for the development of life are distinct. Although most of the Earth is covered with water, most of it is salt water or, at least, unfit for human consumption. That is why the amount of fresh water is something that concerns us. Or at least we should worry because in a very short period of time we could be trying to survive without this precious liquid in many parts of the world. There's is only 2.5 percent of the fresh water available of which 70% is frozen. Only 70% of the world population have access to the 30% of the fresh water we can use.
Some
of the studies determine that the ozone depletion is recovering,
meaning the rate at which it is depleting is rising steadily. This
causes the increase of ultraviolet rays reaching Earth resulting in
problems for all possible forms of life, making each day more intense.
It has been estimated that about 300% of these harmful rays are passing
through the Earth's protective layer.
